| Thank you all for the support
and prayers – we really need it this day.
In Kiryat Tivon we are "in
between the MATZAV" – meaning we can hear from time to time the missiles
falling over Haifa area, and the taking off the air planes from the air
force base not far away at the opposite direction. From time to time we hear
the alarm, and we run to the staircase (the only place at home with no
windows) and sit there for few minutes.
Since our congregation is
located in a bomb shelter – we were requested by the municipality to leave
the place open. The atmosphere is not of fear, but more of anger and fatigue
(not despair).
So let us all pray for peace,
quiet and better days.
Michal Gavrieli – president, "Maalot
Tivon", northern Israel

He who blessed our fathers
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He will bless all the abducted soldiers {and in
their numbers Gilad son of Aviva Shalit, Ehud son of Malka Goldvaser and
Eldad son of Tova Regev} that are in captivity and in harm may God take pity
on them and take them out of slavery and lead them into freedom, and from
labor to redemption, and from darkness to grand light and strengthen their
spirit and bring them back to their families healthy and whole. Please let
it be soon, and we say Amen.

I pray for all of the
parents who have children who fight for Israel's freedom. My daughter is
planning to return to Israel at the end of August for about a year. I pray
for her safety and for all of the young people in Israel. They are the
future of our ancestral homeland. Jews in America think constantly of
Israel, and pray for her safety and security and that of all her
inhabitants. We also pray for the safe return of the brave soldiers who have
been captured.

Our God, the One who raised
Joseph up from the pit,
be "a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble." (Psalm 9:10)
Send complete rescue and full redemption to those held captive by the enemy:
Gilead Shalit, Ehud
Goldwasser, Eldad Regev
Strengthen their spirit and
bring them our prayers that they be protected from all harm.
Implant understanding in the heart of the enemy that they may return the
captives in wholeness of body and spirit.
Grant wisdom to the Israel Defense Forces that they may secure freedom for
the captives without loss of life.
Grant strength of spirit and courage of heart to all the sons and daughters
of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar to release bonds of captivity and allow us all
to live in freedom.
"They shall call upon Me, and I will answer them; I will be with them in
distress; I will rescue them, and honor them." (after Psalm 91:15)
Rabbi Ofer Sabath Beit-Halachmi- Rabbi
of Kehilat Tzur Hadassah

You and yours are in our
daily prayers. May this trial resolve the Hamas and Hezbollah threats to
Israel. Rest assured that ALL Americans with whom I have spoken are behind
your efforts. Our congregation has, and will continue to support our
brethren and the State of Israel. My condolences to the families of those
killed during these campaigns.

Our prayers and good wished
are with all of you at these difficult hours to Israel. I have a family in
Israel and lived there for 30 years and I can relate to the pain and
frustration of the current situation. May the good Lord help Tzahal in its
difficult job against all our enemies that are surrounding us in the North
and South and bring peace to Israel.

Thank you for sending this
