Mevakshei Derech has a membership of roughly 180 families and individuals. The Kehilla has neither a pulpit rabbi nor a permanent cantor. Decisions on ritual and liturgical matters are made democratically, by a committee of rank and file members.

Each week a different Kehilla member gives the sermon. Kehilla members themselves also lead services and read Torah. We believe that the responsibility for learning – and teaching – falls on all Jews.

Mevakshei Derech’s Educational and Cultural Center, now under construction, will house a wide variety of educational initiatives for Israelis of all ages. The Center will include a kindergarten as well as classroom space for ulpan study and informal Jewish education.
